It’s December 10th!

Shirley Bennett is one of the best tv moms since Lorelai Gilmore. She’s flawed, but she cares, and the group would easily get out of hand without her as a moral compass of sorts. Shirley is judgmental, too, but she also forgives. It’s refreshing to see a Christian character instead of a caricature of a Bible-thumping right wing-fanatic. Only a small few of use fit that profile. Lots of Christians are actually quite liberal (yours truly included) and who just try to do right by people especially amid the consumer chaos Christmas creates, but I’ll save my commercialization of Christmas for another post….

While I am happy everyone is getting into the spirit of Christmas I realize it’s been hard when it’s 71 degrees outside right now. (This post is brought to you from a writer set up outside wearing a tee-shirt, jeans, and Teva flip-flops.) So I’m thinking a little pummeling and fake snow might help create some festive fun! 😉
