About
Hello! I’m Alyssa Mitchell, or am for short, and I’m into graphic design and media arts. Generating bright ideas.
Some things you should know about me is that I love to paint and take photographs. I still read tactile books. I like the feel of the paper between my fingers. My favorite forms of exercise include swimming, scuba diving, kick boxing, and running near my apartment in Five Points. No run could be complete without a playlist, especially considering I was a deejay for four years. Before I made the switch to graphic design I was editor of the Kaleidoscope in 2009. I am committed to keeping environmental practices. I have a passion for travel: to explore new places and to discover life in different cultures.
Currently you can find my infographic poster in the 2011 Adobe Design Achievement Awards semifinalist gallery, and it took second at both the 2012 Birmingham AIGA Emerging Designers Showcase and the 2010 Birmingham AIGA Salon Des Refuses Show. My packaging project entitled Split Milk brought me my first Gold ADDY and is featured on the French Paper Co.’s Run of the Mill blog. Last year I won an ADDY in alternative advertising.

Thanks, Alyssa, for posting the Times piece about my book. How did you decide to do that? Regardless, I appreciate it. Richard Goodman
I ran it as a homage to 9/11, and the illustration component.
I love how creative you are! I was not one of the lucky ones to be able to use my creativity in the workplace, but I do believe creativity blossoms everywhere. Thanks for poppin by my blog
Cheers!
Aww! Thank you!

Firstly, thanks for following me! I had a browse around your blog and think its very creative, and you have a great ‘voice’ to communicate in cyberspace. Look forward to following your blog!
Ah, voicing! Ever the fickle friend. I just try to write as down to Earth as possible. Gladd you like it.
Thank you for your comments Alyssa. I started the blog to highlight my photography and to force me to do some writing, which I never really liked doing. The writing is coming easier now, so thanks for the feedback!
Doesn’t look like you struggle much anymore!
It has gotten easier. I try to write as I would speak. I’m told I have a book in me and should write it! Now that’s my challenge, how to come up with more than just a few short words!
We’ll see!
Thanks again!
Thanks for the follow Alyssa and welcome to the Onelifethislife journey! I look foward to reading your posts.

Alyssa, you are awesome, and I just might vote for YOU for president in the next election! Keep up the great work!
Haha. I don’t meet the minimum age requirement! But thanks!
Oh, they still have that? I thought that perhaps they did away with someone needing to be 35 and born in this country. That is okay, I can still “write in” your name as my candidate! Plus, you are still awesome!
Fantastic! Love the blog. I’ll be following.
Yay! Thx!
Thanks for following. Your blog is chock-full of really good information. I will use it for inspiration to design my other blogs. Cheers,

Thank you so much! Nice work on your blog!
Thank you so much Patricia! It’s been a labor of love, but a huge conformation to me that I made the right choice in going back for a second degree.
